I want a faster learning curve

Four months ago I left my job at The Ritz-Carlton and decided to take the leap into Real Estate. Why now?? everyone's talking about how bad the real estate market is, going to get worse. So why now? I'm an eternal optomist, my family is in the business and they seemed to be doing okay even with the bad market. I refused to believe all the naysayers. So here I am, a new realtor... and I want a faster learning curve.

I have been to two classes now that say "ways to get started in real estate" or something along those lines. Neither one of them has given me anything useful to get started with. Perhaps i'm just not creative enough, or perhaps there really are too many real estate agents. Its been four months and although I have some stuff percolating, no sales yet. Its frustrating and quite often scary. Late at night and early in the morning I have minor panic attacks about how i'm going to pay my rent and my bills. Its a good thing I'm an optomist and believe that i'm a person who always lands on her feet.

So I'm going to use this blog to tell you what i've done that's worked and what hasn't worked. Perhaps some of it will apply to businesses other than real estate, perhaps not. I will also tell about the strange and wonderful people that I meet during this adventure and hopefully it will have a happy ending.
